2019 Crappie Contest (Official) Rules

Hours – 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Must register to be eligible and must show valid proof of registration to be eligible for big fish prizes and prize drawings.

All who register a crappie are eligible for prize drawings.

Advance registration at www.mnbound.com/crappie-contest. On site registration available at Lord Fletchers at beginning at 7:00 a.m.  You can also purchase tickets at metro Gander Outdoors stores through May 3rd. 

Advance registration $5 individual; On-site registration, $10

Contest Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Big fish winners determined by tournament director; all decisions final. Fish must be alive when weighed.

Only one crappie per contestant will be weighed.

Contest scales will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

All Minnesota fishing laws will apply, licenses, limits, etc.


Big fish prizes: Adult division (16 and older); Five largest crappies by weight.

Youth division: (age 15 and under) Five largest crappies win prizes;

Prizes include:   Evinrude Motor, Alumacraft Boat, Lowarance Electronics, Rapala Gear, Gift Certificates, shopping sprees, MN. fishing trips, Lake of the Woods trip, Ron Schara, Bill Sherck, Travis Frank guided fishing trips, and much, much more.

Grand Prize (random winner-closest to “surprise” weight; weight chosen by tourney director before tournament) Alumacraft Boat and Trailer  

One Grand Prize of a boat, motor and trailer will be given away at the 2019 Crappie Fishing Contest.  The Grand Prize will be given to one (1) person, determined as follows:  To be eligible, a person must have validly entered the 2019 Crappie Fishing Contest.  To be eligible, a person must have validly caught a crappie during the 2018 Crappie Fishing Contest.  The person catching a valid crappie during the 2019 Crappie Fishing Contest that is closest or equal to the randomly selected weight will win the Grand Prize.  The crappie weight will be randomly selected on on 5/4/2019 for the Grand Prize winning criteria for the 2019 Crappie Fishing Contest and will be announced after 2pm when official scales close.  In the event of a tie, the person who first officially weighs in his/her crappie that is closest or equal to the randomly selected weight during the 2019 Crappie Fishing Contest will win the Grand Prize.

Contest will be held regardless of weather conditions; no refunds. Contest sponsors not responsible for accidents, etc.

The Minnesota Bound 2019 Crappie Contest is subject in all respects to the complete Official rules avaiabile at the contest site (while supplies last) at www.mnbound.com, or by sending a S.A.S.E. To 2016 Minnesota Bound Crappie Contest-C/O Ron Schara, 1000 Boone Ave. N. #1200, Golden Valley, MN. 55427-  main #763-231-6680. Contest is open only to entrants who, as of the entry date, are legal residents of the State of MN. or Wisconsin. Pre-register for the contest at www.mnbound.com. You must pay $5 ($10 at the event) pre-registration entry fee to compete for contest prizes. Void outside the state of mn. and wi., and where prohibited or restricted by law.

Lake Minnetonka Regulations: Entrants must comply with all applicable laws, rule and regulations in connection with participation in the contest, including the Lake Minnetonka regulations below.  CONTESTANTS MUST REGISTER AND WEIGH A CRAPPIE to be eligible for prizes. Weigh a crappie – any size – and you will be eligible for the grand prize. Random prizes will be awarded through the day - all who register a crappie are eligible for prize drawings. All decisions of weight judge's are final. Multiple tickets can be purchased, but only 1 fish per entrant may be weighed and registered.
